Alaska Baby

Winter 2021 This arctic themed quilt went to a great home in Nome, Alaska! I used a mix of scraps and great fabric finds from @quiltersstudiova and followed the North Stars pattern by @elizabethagh Image description: a large, square quilt comprised of 9 blocks, arranged 3×3. Each block features an arctic animal or pair of animals: polar bear, foxes, musk ox, owl, seal, walrus, otters, reindeer, and narwal. Smaller patchwork star patterns accompany the animals in their blocks. The sashing and backgrounds are light grey and silver fabrics. The quilt was finished with wavy diagonal quilting and a multicolor, scrappy binding.
